Appearance
Multistate Button
Hand / Off / Auto and other pick-one states, with a ring while the PLC catches up.
In Studio
In Studio, double-click Multistate Button in the Components category of the Components panel. It is added to the open view, where you can drag it into place.
When to use
Use Multistate Button for a mode select whose command the PLC confirms on a separate status tag. Pick selector for a look that matches a panel selector switch.
Properties
| Property | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Value | String | (none) | The bound command tag each state's value is written to. |
| Status | String | (none) | The bound status tag the PLC echoes the state on. The selected state follows it, and the pending ring waits for it. Blank means the command tag is its own echo. |
| Label | String | Mode | The accessible name of the control. |
| Variant | segmented, buttons, selector | segmented | How it looks: segmented (default), buttons (separate pills) or selector (a rotary selector switch). |
| States (comma-sep) | String | Hand,Off,Auto | The name of each state, comma-separated. |
| Write Values (comma-sep) | String | 0,1,2 | The value written for each state, comma-separated and in the same order. |
| Pending Timeout (ms) | Number | 3000 | How long the ring waits for the echo before it drops and the control shows the state the PLC actually reports. |
| Requires Signature | false, true | false | Same contract as Button's Requires Signature — defers the write to the electronic-signature dialog. |
Binding
Click Bind… on the Value property and bind it to a tag or an expression to drive the live value.
To let an operator change the tag from this component, tick Bidirectional (read-write) on the binding. Without it the component only displays the value.
Writes the chosen state's value. A pulsing ring marks the choice until the status tag matches; the selection itself only moves when the PLC reports it.
