Motor

A smart-object symbol showing a motor's Stopped / Running / Fault state.

In Studio

In Studio, double-click Motor in the Symbols category of the Components panel. It is added to the open view, where you can drag it into place.

When to use

Use Motor for any rotating equipment driven by a simple state — conveyor, fan, agitator — rather than a two-state Status Indicator, when the equipment symbol itself carries meaning on a mimic screen.

Properties

PropertyTypeDefaultDescription
ValueString(none)The bound state value. A boolean reads as Stopped/Running; a number reads Stopped below 1, Running at 1 or above but below 2, and Fault at 2 or above; a string is matched against known run/fault words (e.g. running, fault, tripped) and otherwise reads as Stopped.
Symbol Typesimple, pnid, mimicsimpleThe drawing variant: simple (clean flat elevation), pnid (ISA schematic circle with "M"), or mimic (adds a terminal box, chamfered drive-end bell, and mounting lugs).
LabelStringMotorThe caption shown below the symbol.
Show Captiontrue, falsetrueShows or hides the caption (the name and state word) under the symbol. Off also gives that height back to the drawing — use it when a separate label template sits beside the symbol.
Show Feettrue, falsetrueShows or hides the mounting feet/pedestal under the body.
Orientationright, down, left, uprightWhich way the shaft points: right (as drawn, default), down, left, or up. Only the body rotates — the mounting feet and caption stay upright.
Animatetrue, falsetrueWhen true and the state is Running, the symbol animates (banded motion cues); when false, it renders static regardless of state.
Stopped ColorColor#808080The body color while Stopped. Defaults to the HMI palette's stopped-state color (grey).
Running ColorColor#FFFFFFThe body color while Running. Defaults to the HMI palette's running-state color (white) — the symbol shape, not a saturated color, is what carries "running."
Fault ColorColor#E12D39The body color while Fault. Defaults to the HMI palette's priority-1 alarm color.

Binding

Click Bind… on the Value property and bind it to a tag or an expression to drive the live value.

This binding is read-only — the component never writes to the tag.
