Appearance
Dropdown
Pick one value from a list and write it to the bound tag.
In Studio
In Studio, double-click Dropdown in the Components category of the Components panel. It is added to the open view, where you can drag it into place.
When to use
Use Dropdown for a mode, recipe or unit select where the choices are a short fixed list. Pick the list variant for a touch panel where the options should always be visible.
Properties
| Property | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Value | String | (none) | The bound tag the selection is read from and written to. |
| Label | String | Select | The accessible name of the control. |
| Variant | field, pill, list | field | How it looks: field (default, a field whose menu pops over the screen), pill (compact, for toolbars and headers) or list (always open). |
| Options (comma-sep) | String | Option 1,Option 2,Option 3 | The display text of each choice, comma-separated. |
| Values (comma-sep) | String | (none) | The value written for each choice, comma-separated and in the same order. Blank means the option text itself is written. Numbers and true/false are sent typed; anything else is sent as the exact text. |
| Placeholder | String | Select... | Shown when the tag holds a value that is not in the list. |
| Requires Signature | false, true | false | Same contract as Button's Requires Signature — defers the write to the electronic-signature dialog. |
Binding
Click Bind… on the Value property and bind it to a tag or an expression to drive the live value.
To let an operator change the tag from this component, tick Bidirectional (read-write) on the binding. Without it the component only displays the value.
Writes the picked option's value. The pick shows at once with a ring until the tag echoes it; a refused write puts the tag's value back. An unknown reading shows ---.
