Raylux 2026.22: Maps, Designer and Configuration console
Raylux 2026.22 is a smaller release. Maps can now draw online basemaps, including Google Maps on your own key, and the designer, the configuration console and Iris each get a few fixes. Upgrading a running gateway: install over 2026.21 as usual.

Does this affect me?
- Upgrading a running gateway: install over 2026.21 as usual. Projects, tags, history, users and alarm configuration are kept, and nothing in this release needs a gateway restart.
- Your maps: existing maps look exactly as before. Nothing is fetched from the internet until an administrator approves a tile server or adds a Google Maps key.
- Your project names: existing projects keep loading, running and saving whatever their name. The new naming rules apply only when a project is created.
Maps
- Online basemaps. Add a layer from an online tile server to any Map, under your markers, pipelines and alarm colors. Operator screens fetch the tiles directly, and only from servers an administrator has approved in the configuration console. A layer from a server that is not approved is not drawn, and the map says why.
- Google Maps as a basemap, on your own Google key. Choose roadmap, satellite, hybrid or terrain. Your markers, pipelines and alarm colors are drawn by Raylux on top, the same as on every other basemap. Map loads are billed by Google to your Google Cloud account; Raylux does not charge for them. The key is stored with the gateway's other secrets and is never shown again after you save it. Google's API runs in the browser, so operator screens do receive the key: restrict it to your gateway's address in your Google Cloud console.
Designer
- Buttons have a Mode property. Pick One shot, Momentary or Toggle directly in the property panel. Buttons you already have keep behaving as they do now.
- New tags and folders go where you are. Creating a tag or folder with the + button puts it inside the selected folder, and a folder's right-click menu no longer lists the same commands twice.
- Project names are checked. A new project name is 1 to 64 characters of letters, digits, spaces, hyphens, underscores and periods, and must not already be in use, ignoring upper and lower case. The New Project dialog explains why a name is refused as you type.
Configuration console
- The license banner follows your license. After you activate a license, the banner at the top of every page updates straight away, with no page reload.
Iris
- Iris's tool server speaks the newest Model Context Protocol (2025-11-25). AI desktop apps that use an older protocol version keep working.
Installing
- Windows: Windows Server 2019 or later, or Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The gateway installs as a Windows service and starts on boot. Installing over an earlier release keeps your projects, tags, history and users. These downloads are not code-signed yet, so Windows will warn you the first time you run one.
- Linux: x86-64. Ubuntu 24.04 or later, Debian 13 or later, Fedora 39 or later, or RHEL, Rocky or Alma 10 or later. Install over an earlier package to upgrade; your data in
/var/lib/rayluxis kept. Studio and Lens are Windows-only; the gateway serves operator screens to any browser. The packages are not signed yet.
