Where FactoryTalk View is the stronger choice
Rockwell plants. If your plant is standardised on Rockwell, FactoryTalk View is a close fit with Rockwell controllers, and it has an installed base in Rockwell plants.
PlantPAx. If you run or plan a PlantPAx distributed control system, Rockwell's PlantPAx integration is the reason to choose it.
Where Raylux fits
Raylux is not tied to one controller brand. The gateway licence, $995, includes all eight protocols, among them Allen-Bradley, Siemens S7, Modbus and OPC UA, with no per-driver charge. Tags, devices, users and Studio engineers are unlimited.
Every Raylux price is on the pricing page, so you can quote a plant without a conversation. Operator clients are metered, and Spectrum HMI, Historian, Reporting and Alarm notification are modules priced separately.
Raylux is a new product, without a Rockwell-sized installed base.
Looking for a FactoryTalk View alternative?
The simplest test is to try Raylux on your own devices. The free download is fully unlocked for two hours at a time, with every driver, every module and unlimited tags and clients, and you can restart it as often as you like. Then price your plant on the pricing page.
